I was born and lived in Aceh, to be precise in Lueng Bimba Village, Kuta Simpang, Meurah Dua Subdistrict (formerly Meureudu District), Pidie Jaya Regency (formerly Pidie). In my area, I have a traditional Acehnese public transportation tool that is different from other means of transportation. in line with the times, nowadays this transportation tool is rarely found in Aceh. Now in 2020, the transportation tool only lives in a few areas and only a few units are left.
The name is Labi-Labi, but this is not
a type of animal, this is a typical means of transportation for the people of
Aceh. This Labi-Labi is a Carry-type pick-up car which is modified into a mini
bus that is unique to Aceh. In general, Labi-Labi has an inter-district route
that carries passengers between villages. Labi-Labi can carry 14 passengers in
the back room and 2 passengers in front plus 1 driver, while 1 carnet usually
hangs at the back door. On the roof of this Labi-Labi usually contains goods
such as vegetables from the countryside which are transported to the sub-district
capital.
